The Role
We are seeking a board-certified Internal Medicine physician (MD/DO) with experience teaching residents in an outpatient setting and a passion for leadership in academic primary care. This position blends continuity care, resident education, and program leadership within a thoughtfully structured weekday schedule.
Practice Model
- Morning continuity clinics with your own independent patient panel. Up to two learners (Internal Medicine residents and/or medical students) paired with you.
- Afternoon resident clinic focused on dedicated precepting.
- No double-booking of your personal patient panel.
- Shared clinic call coverage within a collegial faculty group.
- 0.5 day of protected administrative time weekly with flexibility based on leadership and program responsibilities.
- Back-up: Phone call only, in rotation every 3rd to 4th week.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver high-quality, comprehensive outpatient primary care to a diverse and underserved patient population.
- Teach, supervise, and mentor Internal Medicine residents and medical students in the ambulatory setting.
- Shape resident education through curriculum development, bedside teaching, and longitudinal mentorship.
- Lead or participate in quality improvement initiatives and academic projects.
- Take on leadership responsibilities within the clinic and residency program, aligned with your interests and experience.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team to continuously improve patient care and learner experience.

Requirements
- Unrestricted State of Connecticut medical license (or eligible).
- MD or DO.
- BE/BC in Internal Medicine.
- Flexible, collaborative, and excited to contribute beyond traditional clinical duties.
- Passionate about academic medicine, team-based care, and caring for underserved populations.
Preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience teaching Internal Medicine residents in an outpatient clinic setting.
- Proven leadership experience in clinical operations, education, quality improvement, or administration.
