St. Joseph’s Health is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Cardiac Hospitalist to join our expanding cardiology team in Syracuse, NY. This is an excellent opportunity to focus exclusively on inpatient cardiology within a collaborative, patient centered environment at one of the region’s leading health systems.
Position Highlights:
Full time inpatient Cardiac Hospitalist position within a high volume, cardiology-focused service (no outpatient responsibilities)
7 on 7 off schedule
Provide comprehensive inpatient management of acute cardiac conditions, including heart failure, arrhythmias, acute coronary syndromes (ACS), and post procedural cardiac care
Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of cardiologists, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and care coordinators
Flexible schedule with a competitive call structure designed to support work–life balance
Perform admissions, daily rounding, and discharge planning
Coordinate care with interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, and cardiac surgery teams
Interpret cardiac diagnostics including EKGs, telemetry, and echocardiograms
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and multidisciplinary case reviews

Qualifications:
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiovascular Disease
Experience or strong interest in cardiology focused hospital medicine
New York State medical license (or eligibility)
Strong communication skills and a team based approach to care
Recruitment Package:
Base Salary is $600,000 per year
Year 2- Cardiologist has opportunity to join Pool Model where RVU and Quality Incentive Models are shared among pool members. Entry into Pool model requires annual RVU threshold.
The posted salary reflects the starting range of total compensation and does not include productivity bonuses, incentives related to quality and performance, extra shift incentives, and other forms of cash compensation as applicable to the position. In addition, providers typically receive a CME allowance and other benefits offered by their medical group employer. Please note that this salary range is provided in accordance with State law and is subject to variation due to the factors noted above.
Starting Bonus: $50,000
Retention Bonus: $25,000 at 2nd anniversary
Retention Bonus: $25,000 at 3rd anniversary
Fellowship compensation available- up to 100k per year for early sign on (paid out as a monthly stipend)
