Description
The Division of General Internal Medicine & Hospital Medicine at Tulane University School of Medicine is seeking board certified/board eligible Internal Medicine physicians to join our Academic Hospitalist team.
This opportunity is designed for physicians who want to build a strong foundation in academic medicine while developing their skills as clinicians, educators, and future leaders. New faculty will join a collaborative hospital medicine team with opportunities for mentorship, teaching, quality improvement, scholarship, and professional development.
Position Overview
Tulane Academic Hospitalists provide compassionate, evidence based inpatient care while working closely with residents, medical students, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary care teams. Faculty may attend on both teaching and non-teaching services and will have opportunities to develop areas of academic interest as their careers progress.
What You’ll Do
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based care for hospitalized adult patients.
- Teach and supervise Internal Medicine residents and medical students on inpatient services.
- Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, clinical operations, and transitions-of-care initiatives.
- Engage in educational conferences, faculty development, and departmental activities.
- Explore academic interests in medical education, research, quality improvement, clinical leadership, or program development.
- Contribute to the continued growth of the Division of General Internal Medicine & Hospital Medicine.

Requirements
What We’re Looking For
- MD or DO degree, or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency program by the anticipated start date.
- Board eligible or board certified in Internal Medicine.
- Eligibility for an unrestricted medical license in the State of Louisiana.
- Interest in teaching residents and medical students.
- Commitment to excellent patient care, teamwork, and professional growth.
